The perennials are growing -- by June the area will be in full bloom.

Trout lilies are growing in the field in front of the center.

Trout lilies received the name because their mottled leaves are thought to resemble the markings on trout.

Dandelions are NOT natives, but it's hard to hate a gorgeous panorama like this one.

Woodland phlox flourishes in the shade.

Celandine poppies will self seed, forming large colonies, if conditions are favorable.

Celandine poppies bloom in spring and early summer and then go dormant.
