Trout Lily
(Erythronim
albidum)

Trout
lilies are also called dog-toothed violets, though they are
not violets at all. They are found all in rich
woodlands, in lowlands and along streams all across the
state.
It takes at
least four years to raise a flowering plant from seed.
Plants that will bloom will have two leaves; the ones with a
single leaf will bloom the following year.
Sighting
this flower is proff that spring is definitely on the way! |
