Project FeederWatch
August 2008 Sightings
Project Feeder Watch ended in
April. We will keep you up-to-date on sightings at the
feeders. The most common native birds
spotted were Mourning Doves and American Goldfinches.
Robins and
Purple Martins are on the grounds
of Lakeside Nature Center, though they aren't feeder birds.
The
Chimney Swifts are sitting
on their eggs in the swift tower in the center. While they
are not birds,
White-tailed Deer,
Eastern Cottontail Rabbits,
Eastern Gray Squirrels,
Raccoons
and
Opossums enjoy the seeds at our feeders and slake
their thirst at the stream.
You'll see lots of hummingbirds
preparing for their migration to Brazil. The first of the
winter birds has appeared -- the White-breasted Nuthatch.
