Rain Garden Remodel

May 10 @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm

Discover the Design Behind Resilient Stormwater Systems

The rain garden at Lakeside Nature Center has undergone a major transformation — and now is your chance to learn how it was done.

Join the design/build team behind the overhaul for an engaging session on the principles and practices of sustainable stormwater design. This class will cover both the fundamentals of stormwater system construction and the deeper design strategies that drive long-term success.

We’ll also explore the often-overlooked elements of native plant community management — a critical yet misunderstood component of creating lasting ecological impact.

What to Expect:

•  On-site discussion and walkthrough of the new rain garden

•  Q&A with the design/build team

•  Insights into plant selection, hydrology, and long-term stewardship

Ideal for designers, contractors, homeowners land managers, and anyone interested in the intersection of ecology and infrastructure.

This is the prequel to our 3-part ‘Rain Gardens Design for Maintenance’ classroom series May 31 and June 14.
