City Nature Challenge
April 26 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
FreeSafely celebrate nature in and around urban Kansas City by documenting all the wildlife species we can find during this City Nature Challenge. It can be any WILD plant, animal, fungi, slime mold, or any other evidence of life found in Kansas City.
• 10 to 10:30 am Join a Naturalist from 10:00-10:30 at our outdoor pavilion to learn about the iNaturalist app and how to become a citizen scientist.
• 10:30 am Join a guided hike of portions of our Fox Hollow trail and surrounding habitats to find amazing things in nature and record the finds in iNaturalist. There will also be a scavenger hunt of things you might find and hear on the trails, along with a photo guide of common spring plants on Fox Hollow trail. Printed copies of the scavenger hunt will be available.
The City Nature Challenge continues through April 28 so you can continue to record your finds on iNaturalist.
