The Weather is Frightful – Native Wildlife Event

January 20 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Free

Join us for a native wildlife event focusing on the different methods wildlife uses to survive frightful weather. Some animals deal with extreme temperatures by using migration, others will use hibernation or brumation and some will simply endure the temperatures.

There will also be arts and crafts activities and display tables.

Presentations/Animal Encounters:

  • 10:30 am – Education Animals Presentation. Meet Wilma, box turtle and a snake ((brumation/hibernation). For more information on our education animals, go here.
  • 11:30 am – Presentation. Temperature Talk. Learn how animals deal with extreme temperatures from hot to cold – migration, hibernation/brumation, enduring, and sometimes having fun
  • 12:30 pm – Raptor Ambassador Presentation. Meet Sam, turkey vulture (migration). For more information on our raptor ambassadors, go here.
