Fox Hollow Fest-Celebrating National Trails Day

Join us for our second annual Fox Hollow Fest as it celebrates National Trails Day. Friends of Fox Hollow (FOFH) is partnering with many local organizations that are working hard to improve and expand our urban green spaces. Come and meet these wonderful folks and discover projects that are happening all over the city while enjoying a day filled with fun activities for all ages.

FREE scheduled events:

• Guided Hikes:
  (These hikes are open to all, but no dogs or strollers allowed.)
  • 11 am – Plant ID
  • 11:30 am – Using Nature Apps
  • 12 pm – Plant ID
  • 12:30 pm – Blue River History
  • 1 pm – Geology
• Live Music from CORI JO AND THE CRAWDADS, 12 pm – 2 pm
• Kits Corner: Make bug hotels, nature crowns, fox masks, walking stick handles (BYO stick) all while learning about our amazing pollinators. “Tyke Hikes” will be offered as well for the little ones.
• Tree climbing demonstrations by Trees Company Recreational Climbing.
• And visit all the partner tables and learn more about who they are and what they do!

Does your garden need some more plants??…

SOW WILD NATIVES will be on site selling their gorgeous natives from 11 am – 2 pm (or until sold out).

Also, we will have a merch table and homemade pottery for sale, as well as a raffle featuring art and wares from local KC companies and artists.

This year, our big-ticket item will be a TREK Marlin 6 Gen 3 mountain bike ($950 value) sponsored by the Lees Summit TREK store!

*This event is dog friendly, but of course all dogs must be leashed and are not allowed in the building or on the guided hikes

Festival goers can bring their own food and drink and make a day of it! Most activities will be outside, so please prepare for the weather.

All activities will conclude at 2:30 pm so that the raffle winners can be announced.

Since National Trails Day is on Saturday June 1^st, there will be additional events that you can participate in planned for that day.  Some will be here at Lakeside Nature Center while others at local parks.  Check here for June 1 event information.
