Fox Hollow Trail Work Day

Volunteers will remove invasive species, plant natives and maintain/improve the Fox Hollow trail system. Not sure where we are working just yet, but be prepared for a short hike just in case.

Please email ruth.stephens@kcmo.org  if you are planning to attend and if you need tools or will bring your own.

These workdays are weather dependent. You will be emailed if the day is cancelled due to inclement conditions.

Volunteers will gather at the pavilion before work begins.

The following are recommended for the work days:

• wear work gloves, sturdy shoes, long pants and long sleeves, if weather allows,
• apply insect/tick repellent to your skin and clothes,
• wear sunglasses/protective eyewear, sturdy shoes/boots and work gloves,
• bring loppers and/or hand saw, if you have them,
• and bring a refillable water bottle.

You may encounter insects, poison ivy and/or prickly plants, varied terrain as well as poking eye-level branches.

The workday will be cancelled if:

• Temps drop below 35 degrees (hard to imagine today!)
• If it is actively raining, or looks like will rain before 6 pm (not safe to use tordon during/just before any precipitation)
