Children’s Play Area

The children’s play area and library overlook the wetlands were visitors can enjoy bird watching from inside. A variety of birds species can be seen each day enjoying seed from the feeders.

In the play area, children can put on an animal puppet show, interact with the kitchen where they can learn about composting and life under ground, enjoy a variety of puzzles, as well as participating with coloring activities.

Library

The library hosts books for readers of all ages ranging from children’s books to leisure reading and animal resources.

Activities for Children

Young visitors might also enjoy participating in one of our scavenger hunts. Younger children can look for animals from a picture hunt, while older children read questions where answers can be found throughout the center. Once completed, they can select fun stamps to mark their papers as a take-home remembrance from their visit.

A ‘touch table’ near the upper displays provides an opportunity for visitors to interact with animal bio-facts like furs and skulls, as well as investigating natural objects like fossils.
